Throughout the year everyone gets prepared for the carnival, makes the feathers and sequins dresses, writes the year carnival music which will give rhythm to the island during one week. The streets are crowded with youngsters and elders: dancers, musicians, public are bewitched. Dancers follow the trucks with enormous sound systems which pound the city walls. The parade turns around Marigot until nightfall when everyone meets at the "Carnival Village", where the evening goes on with concerts and events.
