Guana Bay
Beach
Apart from a few surfers, this beach prone to sea swells is never very busy. At just under 2 miles from Philipsburg, this cove is a starting point of a hiking path that takes you to the natural pools of Geneve Bay.
Guana Bay, to the southeast of the island on the Dutch side and facing St. Barts, is a wild, windswept beach with crashing waves. Guana Bay, located at the end of a residential neighborhood, isn’t ideal for swimming due to the rough waters. You should be an experienced swimmer if you want to try. It’s devoid of any type of development, and is much loved by experienced surfers who want to take on the rolling waves. The main advantage of Guana Bay is that it’s the starting point for the path to Geneve Bay’s natural pools.
