A Day Out Boating Around St. Martin / St. Maarten
What would a trip to the Caribbean be without spending a day out at sea? Pleasure boating is a must in St. Martin, whether you choose to sail out on a catamaran, a motorboat, or another type of yacht.
Yachting in Total Comfort
It’s 9 a.m. and we’re standing on the pier at Grand Case, waiting for the skippers to give us the green light. Once they are ready, we climb aboard the all-equipped, 45-foot, motored-catamaran, which can welcome up to 18 people. On board the yacht, we find every comfort possible: lounge chairs, lots of seating, a large 12-person table, lavatories, and a spacious cabin inside.
We head out into the Caribbean for the day, into the turquoise waters surrounding the islands of St. Martin, St. Barthelemy, and Anguilla. We relax into the rise and fall of the swell and admire the landscapes as the team caters to our every need. The mood is light, and there’s a variety of menu options to choose from, including drinks, barbecue, and side dishes. This is a day we will always remember.
Water Sports and Relaxing
After cruising along for some time, we drop anchor to enjoy the crystalline waters, white sand beaches, and rock formations perfect for diving. Some laze around, while others take full advantage of all the water toys imaginable: paddles, inflatables, snorkeling masks, inner tubes, and water noodles… The beaches here are ideal for snorkeling. You may even chance upon some sea turtles.
After indulging in swimming and the beach, we return to the catamaran for a few hours of cruising along the tides. We sunbathe on the bow, and have that last drink at the stern. The team tells us that when the season is right, dolphins come to play in the waves, just a few meters from the boat.
It’s now 5 p.m. and we step off the catamaran onto solid ground, starry eyed and glowing from a day full of sunshine.
