Fly Above the Trees
A Moment of Pure, Fun-Filled Adventure
The Caribbean is renowned for its white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and year-round gentle climate, which delight beach chair afficionados worldwide. On top of that, the French Caribbean also has what it takes to please the most active daredevil visitors with its Fly Zone at St. Martin/St. Maarten’s Loterie Farm. For a bit of thrill and good-spirited fun in lush, natural surroundings, this is an activity that you shouldn’t pass up.
From Zipline to Fresh Water Pool
Located on an old sugar cane plantation, Loterie Farm is a private natural reserve in a peaceful setting, conducive to relaxing and lounging around the fresh water pool. There are always, however, a few shrieks of joy that break up the quiet as adventure-seekers race by, suspended in the air, just meters from the pool. Harnessed to a zipline, they eventually hit the ground next to the swimming area, where they can unwind and spend the rest of their afternoon. After accomplishing their tree top obstacle course, guests deserve a little dip in the pool, a rum cocktail, and of course a nap, in this idyllic setting.
A Fun, Active Excursion
Even though many come to the famous Loterie Farm for a peaceful day with their feet in the water, fewer are brave enough to take the “high rope” of the Fly Zone. However, it was made for anyone over 140 m tall, both newbies and more experienced aerial adventurers. Guests simply need to wear comfortable clothing, sport shoes, and the provided harness. Then, a team of professionals facilitates the activities so that each obstacle is fun, safe, and accessible for all. Day hikers passing by also add their own dose of good humor (and sweat!) to the thrilling experience.
A Varied Circuit Through the Heart of the Tropical Forest
The series of challenges begin easily with a drive into a protected tropical forest. This first step takes guests to the summit of Pic Paradis, the highest point on the island at 424 meters, to take advantage of the exceptional view on Creole Rock in Grand Case Bay . Then passengers leave the vehicle behind and embark on their circuit. Here your gross motor skills and courage are called upon as you hoist yourself up the rope knots and rough wooden ladders. This is how you will reach the treetops to get to the long, fast moving ziplines, which glide from branch to branch, until you get to the Farm. Once back on land, a certain agility is required to cross the narrow suspension bridges. Last, but certainly not least, you fly at top speed all the way to the natural pool. This last bit of the adventure sets the mood for the rest of the fun, crazy day that you won’t be forgetting any time soon.
