A timeless, magical moment awaited those who came to these evenings to admire the special effects and illuminations orchestrated by David Gumbs.
David Gumbs is a native of St. Martin, a multimedia maestro, who is internationally renowned for his original creations. He amazed the public with his visual, audio and sensory show which showcased the surrounding environment and historic design of this ancient monument, which still seems to be watching over us after all this time.
It was a great way to be whisked back in time and really put history in the spotlight, in both the literal and figurative meaning of the word, thanks to digital technology, an opportunity to embrace the artistic poetry of the moment.
This pop-up came and went in a snap and was a joyful immersive, innovative experience, one that could be adapted to other places.
A big thank you to the artist and his partners for lighting up our dear monument in such an original way. We won’t forget it any time soon!
