Orient Bay, the St. Tropez of the Caribbean

Spend a Day in Orient Day, the St. Tropez of the Caribbean

A beach day in Orient Bay is something you shouldn’t pass up on your visit to St. Martin. Located on the island’s northwest, this beach is one of the largest and most popular. And with a moniker like “St. Tropez of the Caribbean,” you’ll understand why it attracts so many tourists in high season, and sometimes even big names in show business.

Turquoise Waters and White Sand Beaches

Once you’re in the Orient Bay district, roam the streets until you reach the sea. You can access the beach several ways, and big dirt parking lots allow you to leave your car just a stone’s throw from the water. Peppered with colorful lounge chairs, the beach stretches several hundreds of meters. The turquoise water and white sand are staples of the Caribbean, and the verdant hills in the background add to the postcard perfect setting.

Lay on the hot sand or rent a beach lounger for the day. And when the sea is calm, that’s when swimming is at its most pleasant.  For lunch, Orient Bay Beach boasts a number of possibilities. You’ll find sophisticated cuisine on the menu of whichever restaurant you choose, particularly in Orient Bay’s renowned establishments, some of which are five stars. Why not start your merry-making with an exotic Caribbean cocktail?
